Frequently asked Questions!

1.  Why should I have my dog groomed?

All dogs need an occasional bath, but it is more important to keep your dog combed and brushed, especially if your dog has long hair.  Matted hair can cause discomfort for your pet, and may lead to "hotspots" and skin irritations.

2.  Do you sanitize the salon?

YES!  We disinfect our tables, tubs, kennels, floors & equipment routinely throughout the day.  A pet is NOT put in a kennel that has NOT been properly prepared first.  You will find that our standards for cleanliness are second to none.

3. My vet says that my pet has sensitive skin.

The grooming products that we use are only the finest quality shampoos and conditioners on the market today.  Our shampoos are all "soap" free, which means they don't have any harsh ingredients that will dry out your pet's skin.  If you have a certain shampoo that you would like Peggy to use, please make her aware and she will be more than happy to use it.

4.   Does my pet have to stay all day?

NO, your pet does NOT have to stay all day, but they will want to!  Depending on your schedule, we can always keep your pet longer if you need.  We do take them outside for walks and offer them fresh water and yummy treats (upon permission).  We generally need to allow 2-3 hours for the grooming process, and sometimes longer if there is extensive work to be done or we are exceptionally busy.

5.  Will my pet be put in a kennel?

When your pet comes to visit, Peggy will monitor and see how he/she interacts with the other animals in the grooming.  If we feel it is best for the safety, health & well being of your pet to be in a kennel, he/she will be placed in one.  Our grooming area is large enough for the animals to interact with each other and play together.  Your pets' safety is always our number one priority.
